5/17/16 - Transfer of Philipsburg Property to Economic Development Group

Senator Jake Corman discusses the transfer of a parcel of land that formerly housed the Philipsburg Hospital to the Moshannon Valley Economic Development Partnership.

Senate Bill 1232 authorizes the Department of General Services to grant and convey approximately 18 acres of land formerly housing the Philipsburg State General Hospital and located in Rush Township, Centre County, to the Moshannon Valley Economic Development Partnership, Inc. for $150,000.

Philipsburg Area Hospital closed in April 2006 and the complex was torn down in 2014, leaving land Corman says would be ideal for business development.
